Dr. Giunta holds a Masters degree in Psychology from the State University of West Georgia and a Ph.D. in Family Counseling with a Specialty in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Florida. He completed a Post-Doctoral Internship in School Counseling at the University of Minnesota, providing services to the Ojibwe School on the Fond du Lac Indian Reservation.
He is a National Certified Counselor, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a Qualified Supervisor in Florida. He has held various leadership positions within the American Counseling Association, the American Mental Health Counselors Association and the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association. He is the author of a number of professional articles and numerous national presentations.
Dr. Giunta’s clinical work, research and publications have centered on working with families within the context of the judicial system. He has held fulltime faculty positions at the University of Minnesota – Duluth, the University of Mississippi and Argosy University – Tampa. Currently, he is the site coordinator for Troy University’s Tampa Bay campus. Dr. Giunta continues to maintain a small private practice in Clearwater, Florida providing custody evaluation services and post-divorce family counseling.
